Clinical Health Therapist (YS3 Program)

The YS3 Clinial Health Therapist will be responsible for providing services related to the delivery of mental health care to assigned clients at the designated school location and will provide consultation services to the school and YS3 staff to support the overall mental health goals of the youth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All candidates must possess extensive computer expertise with an ability to build and maintain solid databases, generate reports and analyze results. This position requires excellent customer/member service skills with strong verbal and written communication skills. Applicant must be focused and able to meet the high degree of challenges.

  • Provide specialized services related to mental health care to assigned clients from partner schools.
  • Provide consultation services to the schools and YS3 staff to support overall mental health goals of youth.
  • Conducts regular contact with parent/guardian of each client when needed
  • Attends regular staff meetings.
  • Influencing/supporting outside referrals for clients.
  • Provide group therapy when necessary
  • Prepare reports to school and other partner agencies as required.
  • Participates in the collection of mental health information and student outcomes data to be used for monitoring the overall performance and effectiveness of services   provided.
  • Provides IEP recommendations
  • Conduct trauma training workshops to YS3 mentors
  • Provide behavior intervention services to YS3 youth
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and human relations skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and confidentiality.
  • Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with students, parents, and instructional staff.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, career counseling and guidance.
Education and Experience
  • Master's degree in counseling or social work; license social worker/counselor preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience required.
